Smile, You’re on Candid Camera

I’m a fan of the TV show “Person of Interest” and the one thing I take away from this show is that we are being watched everywhere. Security cameras follow us and help the police to catch criminals. That is when they look into the camera. I happen to be a fan of security cameras and I presently have 34 cameras all around the house, inside and outside. I first installed a simple eight camera system to check on my mother to be sure she was all right since she wasn’t well. I could check from my bed at night or from my desk. Just before she passed away in a nursing home, I had gotten a Yorkie puppy and now I used the cameras to check up on him. Just to be sure he wasn’t tearing something apart. This last year I added two more systems and added more cameras. Okay, I don’t really need them that badly, but it’s nice to be able to check on the house and see if I’ve been invaded by criminals or a terrorist dog. I have two systems by Netgear, one call Vuezone and the other called Arlo. I have another system called Blink. I have one camera system outside called Uniden Guardian 2 and it’s been with me the longest. The nice thing about all these systems is I can access them on my Samsung smartphone from anywhere in the world and check the cameras. The systems give me a hard time occasionally but work fine 95 percent of the time. The camera on the front porch has a motion sensor so if anyone comes to the front door, it lets me know. Last night around 2am the system told me someone was on the porch. I checked and it was a cat. The cameras can’t detect between animal and human. Even if I never catch a criminal, I have the feeling of being secure if I hear a strange noise. Although Willy starts barking first to warn me, but I can see what the noise came from now. The downside is I feel like I’m being watched all the time, which I am. I guess that makes me a person of interest. I don’t have cameras in the bathroom or bedroom for obvious reasons. The photo below was taken off my computer of the Vuezone cameras, all 15 of them.
